I’m delighted to announce that I recently graduated from Falmouth University with a Masters Degree in User Experience Design.
UXD is a complex part of human-computer interface that encompasses a range of disciplines (from research, psychology and ethics to art and design). It is the design of experiences. From how someone engages with an app or platform to how a story is told or visualised in a video game. The practice encompasses a multidisciplinary set of skills that enable people like me who are curious about everything, to engage meaningfully in projects across the design spectrum.
In an era of rapid technological advancement, UX practitioners face both challenges and opportunities. As AI reshapes the industry and raises ethical and legal questions, our role as designers becomes even more crucial. We must adapt to new tools while ensuring responsible development and guiding businesses through the complexities of technology. At the same time, we must champion sustainability, design smarter solutions that balance innovation with environmental consciousness. Ultimately, it’s an exciting time to be a designer, as our skills remain essential in shaping meaningful and responsible user experiences for the future.
I’m looking forward to sharing some of the work I produced during my studies (and career!) soon, and through those case studies I’m excited to showcase my passion for storytelling and design.
This is a big landmark for me, I’m looking forward to the next stage!
